What is the Tenant's Action Group?

We are a group of people that started meeting and working together in early 2004 when we discovered that we felt the same about the way that tenants were being treated within the Liverpool area.

Our purpose is to educate people in order that they may be in a position to fight for their rights whenever they are threatened by Local Councils, Registered Social Landlords (RSL's) and Land Development Corporation such as Liverpool Land Development Corporation. These organisations seem to believe that they know what is best for the community and want to implement those plans regardless of the protests of the very people they claim to want to help.

We are rapidly developing links with other groups from all over the country that are working for the same ends within their own area's.

What we are not.

We are not politically alligned. Members may have strong political beliefs - but the focus of the group is Housing and only Housing. We welcome members from all political and non-polictial backgrounds provided that they have the interests of tenant's and the communities in which they live as their primary motivation.

We are not funded by any outside body as we have often seen other bodies that have been set up to defend tenant's rights have been corrupted by money and have ended up in a position where they have collaborated with those that exploit the most vunerable within society.
